For nearly three decades, we have cultivated strong relationships with gemstone dealers who supply us with cut and polished stones directly from the source. We acquire these gemstones at a fraction of the price, ensuring they are ethically sourced. Once we receive the stones, they are carefully inspected by our in-house gemologist and may undergo recutting or polishing to enhance their appearance. For high-value stones, we also provide an independent gemological report, so customers can examine the stone's characteristics and details.
Our coloured gemstones are primarily sourced from Sri Lanka through a trusted network of suppliers and miners, with a strong focus on responsible sourcing practices.
Our flagship store is located in Sri Lanka, but due to the increasing demand from our Australian clientele, we operate primarily as an online business based in Sydney. If you're located in New South Wales, we would be delighted to arrange a personalised in-person appointment, where we can showcase our stunning gemstones and jewellery selection to meet your needs.
For customers outside of Sydney, we offer virtual appointments, allowing us to assist you with all your gemstone and jewellery queries, no matter where you are.

All of our jewellery is ethically handmade, with some designs utilizing casting techniques for more intricate shapes to minimize excess soldering.

Depending on the design and the stones, most rings can be resized. Our skilled craftsmen are highly proficient in adjusting any design to fit your specific ring size. For more intricate resizing, please allow an additional 7-14 days for completion.

Shipping information
We offer free, expedited, tracked, and insured shipping on all orders across Australia via Australia Post. If your gemstone or jewellery is available and does not require resizing, your order will typically be shipped within 7-14 business days.
For custom orders, please be aware that shipping timelines may vary depending on the specifics of your request. We encourage you to visit our 'Bespoke' section and get in touch with us for more details.
If you're based in Sydney, we are happy to personally deliver your jewellery to you. Rest assured, all shipments are fully insured and tracked, providing you with complete peace of mind.

Returns and warranty
For Australian and New Zealand orders, we follow the return policy outlined below:
- Loose Gemstones: We offer a 7-day return policy for loose gemstones. You may initiate a return within 7 days of receiving the item.
- Ready-to-Ship Jewellery: Our ready-to-ship jewellery can be returned within 14 days of receipt, provided the item has not been altered or resized.
- Bespoke and Custom-Made Jewellery: As these pieces are specially made to order, they are not eligible for returns or refunds. Please ensure that you are certain about your choice before placing a custom order.
Return Eligibility:
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in its original, unworn condition, and in the original packaging. Proof of purchase (receipt) and all relevant certificates of authenticity must be included for the return.
Return Process:
To initiate a return, please contact us directly. Note that no returns will be accepted without prior approval. When contacting us, please include the following:
- Reason for return
- Photos or videos of the item and its condition
- Proof of purchase
If your return is approved, we will provide a return shipping number and further instructions.
Return Shipping Instructions:
- You are responsible for the return shipping cost.
- Ensure the item is securely packed with protective materials (bubble wrap, cushioning) in a durable box.
- Use an express courier service with insurance for the return shipment.
- The return must be trackable and require a signature upon delivery.
- We are not responsible for any damage that may occur during the return transit.
Once the return item has been safely received, we will inspect it for any damage. If the item is in its original, unworn condition, with all documentation, we will confirm the next steps for your return.
Damage or Issues During Delivery:
Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt. If there are any issues, such as damage during transit or if you received the wrong item, contact us within 3 business days. We will evaluate the situation and make it right.
Exchanges:
For an exchange, we recommend returning the item you currently have and making a separate purchase for the new item once your return has been processed.
At Lihiniya Gems AU, we are committed to creating jewelry of the highest quality, with each piece undergoing meticulous checks to ensure it meets our standards before reaching you. For added peace of mind, we offer a 12-month warranty that covers any defects in craftsmanship. Should you experience any issues with the quality or workmanship of your jewelry during this period, we are happy to provide complimentary repairs.
Please be aware that this warranty does not cover damage caused by regular wear and tear or improper care. Jewelry made from metals such as gold and silver can be prone to scratches, so we recommend taking the necessary precautions to preserve its beauty. Once your jewelry is purchased, the responsibility for its care transfers to you, and Lihiniya Gems AU cannot be held liable for any damage that occurs after the sale.
